WP2: Analyses of urban freight transport challenges and requirements
This SMARTFREIGHT activity will:
- define the characteristics and functionality of, and commonalities between wireless communication systems used in freight distribution management (FDMS) and urban traffic management systems (UTMS)
- identify the various stakeholders in such systems and quantify/qualify their user needs, particularly focussing on information needs
- identify how these needs might change in the future and under which circumstances
- determine the characteristics of future ITS systems able to address these future needs
- define key performance indicators to enable the effective monitoring and evaluation of such systems for more effective urban freight management.
Work Package 2 consists of three main tasks:
- user needs analysis
- stakeholder consultation - current and future challenges for urban delivery
- system performance scenarios
