WP6: Proof of concepts and verification of ICT solutions

This activity consists of two approaches:

• in Trondheim the innovative concepts defined by WP3-WP5 will be implemented and tested technologically by the use of CALM and a set of applications communicating through open services on the top of the CALM platform
• the impact of the new innovative concepts will be studied in the other selected European cities. Bologna and Winchester will do simulations and Dublin will perform a desktop study

The future services and functions (to be used) at the different sites will be identified in order to describe the different concepts (services and support tools from WP3, WP5 and WP4) to be analysed for proof of logical functionality when full scale implementations are considered.

The communication infrastructure addressed in WP4 will also be addressed and a special focus will be put on the potential and limitations of every site (based on local ICT-related conditions and type of infrastructure to be expected) in relation to the generic specification as developed in WP5.

Local scenarios (with two time horizons and based on the work of WP2) will be developed for use in the evaluation work in WP7. The necessary local data collection will be made also for a site-related base line scenario and a list of performance indicators as identified in WP2 will be applied.

Work Package 6 consists of four main tasks:

• coordination of site activities
• site related activities
• proof of concepts and logical functionality
• verification of ICT solutions applied
